Setup Windows Live Email account in Outlook Express

Issue

Need to configure your Windows Live email account into your Outlook Express

Workaround

STEP 1: Open Outlook Express.

STEP 2: From the Tools menu, select Accounts.

STEP 3: Go to the Mail tab and from the Add menu, select Mail.

STEP 4: In the Display Name field, enter you full name and click Next.

STEP 5: In the E-mail address field, enter your email address as be and click Next.

Email Address: Enter your full email address ([email protected])

STEP 6: On the   page, complete your information as follows:

My incoming mail server is a : POP3 or IMAP

Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server : pop3.live.com

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server : smtp.live.com

STEP 7: In the Account Name and Password fields, enter your email address and password, and then click Next.

STEP 8: On the setup confirmation page, click Finish.

STEP 9: On the Mail tab, select the account you just created, and then click Properties.

STEP 10: Go to the Servers tab.
STEP 11: Select My server requires authentication, and then click Apply.

STEP 12: In the Server Port Numbers section, change Outgoing mail (SMTP) to 587 and Incoming mail (POP3) to 995. Click OK.

STEP 13: If you want to keep a copy of email messages stored on your email provider’s servers, in the Delivery section, select Leave a copy of messages on server.
