Objective
Provide a guideline on how to install MYSQL Server 2017 Edition on a Windows Server 2019 virtual machine.
Prerequisites
- Windows Server 2019 Virtual Machine
- MySQL Server 2017 Edition Installer
Steps
Step 1: Install MySQL
Firstly, download the installation package. After the download finishes, click on the installer.
On the SQL Server Installation Center window pane, select New SQL Server stand-alone installation.
Then, on the Install Rules screen, select Next.
After that, accept the License Terms and click on Next.
Next, on the Feature Selection screen, make sure the Database Engine Services option is selected.
You will be taken to theServer Configurationscreen; you can leave these settings untouched and select Next.
This will take you to the Database Engine Configuration screen, select the Windows Authentication mode option and select Add Current User to add as the DB administrator.
If you would like to have the TempDB and Logs files in a separate drive, select the respective tabs and specify the destination.
Finally, wait for the installation to complete.
