- Use of an invalid FTP host address.
- The remote server was stopped or restarted.
- The remote network interface is disabled for some reason.
- There are too many users logged in to the server.
- Your account on the remote server is restricted for some reason.
Fixes
Step 1: Change the Data Connection Type
In the event that you are fulfilled that the remote server or client account is not to blame, and you experienced this error either when initially setting up the connection or when beginning a file transfer, at that point it might be important to change the data connection type
- Change from passive (PASV) mode to active (PORT) mode
- If the data connection type has change and it do not help to solve the problem, you may need to change back to the default settings
