How to Find Users not in Compliance with the Password Policy in SmarterMail

Issue

Passwords do not meet the configured password requirements

Symptoms

Cause

Workaround

As a security feature, SmarterMail can create a list of users whose passwords do not meet the configured password requirements. Non-compliant users can then be notified by email that they need to change their passwords to meet the password requirements.

NOTE: The system administrator must have defined a password policy for this feature to work. For more information, please refer to the knowledge base article How To – Set Up a Password Policy.

Follow these steps to view a list of non-compliant users:

  1. Log in to SmarterMail as the system administrator.
  2. Click the Manage icon.
  3. Click Password Policy Compliance in the navigation pane. A list of non-compliant users will load in the content pane.
  4. To send a message to these users, select the desired users and click Send Email in the content pane toolbar. Then compose the message and click OK.
